Lost in Translation

This was a beautiful morning, one that will live with me for a long time, with a lovely, clear blue sky, a bright moon and of course the snow was fresh and crisp. Hiking up here before dawn in the blue hour was a real treat with so much light cast from the moon, even though it was small and waning. There were lots of tracks in the virgin snow mostly from hares but also some that could have been from a badger as I know of a badger sett near here. It was cold, very cold, the forecast of -3°C I think must have applied to lower ground. At times, my fingers were so frozen and numb I could hardly work my camera without warning them up first. The morning was so beautiful that I was almost moved to tears. Still before dawn, I set up my camera and started work but I don’t for a second believe that I translated the true beauty of nature on this morning into an image.
